The Summit County record, as issued.

About

What Summit Courier is, and is not

It is

  • An index of what Summit County, Ohio officially publishes: its county offices, courts and county-wide boards, and its cities, villages and townships, read every 20 minutes.
  • Headlines, issuers, times, kinds and community tags, each linked to the original on the issuer’s own website, with the issuer’s own opening words where its feed or page shows them.
  • A Meetings Ledger, daily editions, a page for every community and one for county government, all built by code from those items.
  • Self-running: no editors choose or rank anything. Items are kept or dropped by published rules only (for example, items over 45 days old when first seen are dropped, and only the meetings are kept from city calendars), listed on the Sources page.

It is not

  • A newspaper. It writes no stories and does no reporting of its own.
  • Commentary. It adds no opinion, rating or “analysis” to any item.
  • Official. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for Summit County, any city, village or township, any court or board, or any news organization.
  • Complete. It reads 40 issuers; some communities and offices publish nothing it can read (the Sources page lists them and why), and feeds sometimes miss items or go quiet. The Sources page shows when each was last read.
  • An emergency alert service. For emergencies call 911; for official alerts use the county’s and your city’s own alert systems.

Why the name

A courier carries dispatches without rewriting them, and Summit is the county it covers. Summit Courier is not connected with any newspaper or magazine of a similar name.

Before October 27, 2026

Until October 27, 2026, Summit Courier indexed the diplomatic record: what governments and international bodies published about diplomacy and trade. Those items are kept in its archive but are no longer shown, and the country pages that went with them are gone.

Corrections

If an item is filed under the wrong kind or community, the fault is in the filing rules, not in the issuer’s text. The rules are published on the Sources page and improved over time.
